Here is a new book coming out tomorrow about the details of confederate uniforms (both ANV and AOT) during the war. It involves new discoveries of documentation and it suppose to be a little "groundbreaking" since the Les Jenson articles. I know i'm ordering one! www.thomaspublications.com/details.asp?BID=185

What?!!! .You mean a book that doesn't just talk of Bobby Lee's army?Won't the general public get confussed?I always though that the ANV was the only army fighting against Lincolns massive AOP. Next,I bet Preston will be telling us that there were other Federal armies besides the Army of the Potomaic, and that Bobby Lee wasn't the overall Confederate commander from the start of the war.I should know,I learned all my history from "Gods and Generals". ;D (Just one of those days). Ok, so I got my copy of the book in the mail today, it only took a little over a week, so it wasn't a long wait at all. It is a pretty good book with origional photos, and a LOT if in depth research about where a lot of equipment came from and was issued to throughout the theaters of the war. It does a great job explaining how many units uniforms would change from month to month especially after 1862 and throughout the rest of the war. Lots of info here... I think it was well worth it!
