Man it's been quiet in here for quite some time. Did somebody steal all the lollipops?

Good question. I've been busy with a new baby. Haven't heard anything from Preston or Timothy in some time.

Ditto. Someone needs to come in and stir the dust.

Snap! We are alive and well! With us being young fellas in our developing 20's we are realizing more and more how life can be quite distracting from the hobby at times. Simple answer is we've just been real busy lately with real life situations and predicaments.
But we're starting to get our focus back now that the crazy summer is coming to a close. I'm starting a new job and still playing in several bands, so my schedule can get pretty hectic at times to where I can even squeeze in an event. I had been wanting to attend Lost Tribes for months and now I've discovered that there is no way I can make the event. So right now we're trying to get registered for Bummers (hard to even come up with the registration money) and are looking towards 2010 for other events.
I know for sure that we will be at the next LBL event and have heard of a week long event scenario in KY that seems right up our alley. I would sure love to help out Joe and his "wagon event", however we just don't have much passion for doing reb, nor do we have the materials anymore to make a worthy impression. If any union or male civilian impressions are needed then we could help out.
Not that it will detract from our CW reenacting interests, but we had expressed some desire to do some WW2 reenacting again (did it for a while several years ago). However, as light as my wallet is these days, I'm not even going to think about the extra hundreds of dollars it would take for an M1, helmets and all that crap. Besides, I still need some good wellington boots and a federal frock coat! Gotta complete one era of impressions before flying into another. I'm anxious to get back out into the field though.
Oh, and for all you local guys. They are actually putting on a Battle of Collierville event this October near Memphis. Since it's only a stones toss away we will be there manning the federal earthworks. So let me know if any of you guys want to go to that event so we can get together and catch up and show the farbs how to do federal the right way.

I was wondering what happened to you guys:-) Do you have the dates for the Collierville thing-just heard about it last night, from my stepdaughter of all places- she saw a flyer at the grocery in Collierville. Given the local cornfeds desire to make this a yearly event, they sure haven't been pimping it outside their little circle:-)

Leland, Collierville is Oct. 22 - 24 if I'm not mistaken.
Me and the boys will be there as Federals. Not sure how many of us, but we'll be there.
From what I've been hearing, Collierville is going to be bigger than we originally thought. We thought it would be the same local yokels that show up everywhere, but then we found out that an event in the Trans Miss. was cancelled. As a result, they are now expecting somewhere around 600 reenactors to be there. IIRC, the 1st Ark. Bn., Cleburnes Div. (as Federal), TN Valley Bn., Elk River Bn., Jeff Davis Guard (as Federal), among others have committed to the event.

Collierville is a work weekend for me, but I might have some time on Sat. to make a quick run up there from Oxford to see some of the show.

Great-I've already registered, although I think my wife has commited us to an early halloween party that night. I'll probably day trip the event and won't even need to change into a costume:-) for the party. Missed you guys at Perryville. Not a bad event-even if Joe was running around in civies:-)

Glad to see you all are still getting stuff done. I miss the hobby immensely and haven't been able to attend any events. I spent the Spring semester studying in Egypt and the summer attending schools for the Army. Now summer is over, and I find myself studying in Egypt again. It is only getting worse (for the hobby at least)! As soon as I get back from Cairo, I have to pack up and move to DC. I will be attending George Washington University to finish up my undergrad. I am hoping I will be lucky enough to have an event coincide with Spring Break so I could possibly have time to travel back out to Tennessee area. I guess I could get involved in Eastern Theater, but I have heard some horror stories.
Well, hope to see you all in the not so distant future. In the meantime I will try and check in on the forum more often.
